I just got back from an amazing trip with American Adventures to the Guadalupe Mountains!

We hiked to the top of Texas’s highest peak, amongst the windy Guadalupe Mountains… a mere 8,749 feet to the top. Reaching that summit was such a rush!

These are some of the first photos from our trip, captured while admiring the glow of first light hitting El Capitan.

This is a project that I have been working on with Aaron Mihalevich. Aaron enjoys photo manipulation and asked me for some feedback on a concept he had been working on. I thought this one had potential.

This is a concept piece for BootDaddy Moonshine created with the intent to open up creative dialogue and is not intended for re-sale or commercial use.

Here, the idea was to emphasize the clear and pure qualities of the Moonshine by placing it in a shade cooled cascade of brilliant blue water.

Filtering and colors were adjusted to create a sense of nostalgia. Text was kept simple to emphasize the link between the crystal clear waterfall, the bright and clear properties of the Moonshine, and the un-aged corn whiskey.

Content and copy were chosen to add value and create interest, with social media and web designated as the primary delivery platforms.

Corral makes a lot of cool stuff for chicks. This one took a really nice photo, and I could see myself toting this thing around. I’ll bet I could fit a laptop and a small dog in there!

I love summer, and all of the wonderful dresses that come with the season. This is one of my favorites from the last batch to come through for photography at PFI.

I’ve missed you… It’s been a long time!

Much has changed since I was on here last. First, and foremost, I am no longer working on the Darkside Project. For those of you who wanted shirts and/or tanks, there are a few remaining that I am willing to part with. They are $20 a piece.

For those of you who might be curious about my virtual disappearance over the past few months, I can tell you that it’s been a bumpy ride but all systems are up again and I’m definitely ready to get back to work. This time I intend to share more information about the technical process of photography, in addition to sharing the tidbits of knowledge and photographs that I find interesting.

My newest extra-curricular pursuit is rock climbing. I’m completely infatuated and considering the possibility of integrating rock climbing with photo and video to create a type of learning journal to catalog my progression. Who knows, maybe you bloggernauts can learn something from my trial and error, or gain some confidence to take with you on your first rock climbing trip!

Tomorrow will be my third trip to Big Rock Climbing Gym.
